2019 Portfolio

The work produced in 2019 is a continuation of the "Spruce and Gasoline" series of paintings as well as a series of gum-bichromate photographs that deal with exploring contrasts and contradictions; a series that blurs the lines between real and imagined, photo and painting by combining the gum-bichromate photo printing process with watercolour painting and clippings of newspaper articles related to contradictions that surround us on a daily basis.

Time to publish some of the latest paintings while I continue to work on a series of gum-bichromate prints which will be published soon.

Working from a variety of photomontages and photographs taken from my travels, this latest series paintings, “Spruce and Gasoline “,  are a group of watercolour and acrylic paintings that explore the relationship between people and their environment.  They explore the relationship between people and their environment by focusing on the unseen beauty that surrounds us in both rural and urban areas. The works establish a link between the landscape’s reality and that imagined by its conceiver.
